Victor Marx’s Primary Win Divides Colorado Republicans

Victor Marx’s slim win in a crowded three-way primary has left many Colorado Republicans feeling disheartened. As the state has increasingly leaned Democratic, the GOP’s chances of capturing the governorship were already slim. However, Republicans warn that Marx leading the ticket could jeopardize other statehouse and congressional contests.

Darcy Schoening, a former Moms for Liberty activist and state party delegate who operates an anti-Marx website, expressed deep concern about the impact Marx’s candidacy is having within the party. Schoening stated that Marx’s campaign has caused significant damage to Republican candidates further down the ballot, describing it as “absolute destruction.”

Moreover, Schoening highlighted the internal strife Marx’s campaign has fostered among Colorado conservatives, fracturing relationships and leading to personal divisions. "This election season, most people probably lost more friends than they ever have in any other cycle," she noted, underscoring the emotional toll the primary has taken on the party’s base.
